In October 2024, Gather25 set out to host a 25-hour global broadcast, bringing together participants from churches, campuses, arenas, and homes across continents. With a mission rooted in unity and inclusion, the event aimed to ensure that people everywhere could engage with the same message — regardless of where they were or which language they spoke. To make this possible at an unprecedented scale, Gather25 partnered with Interprefy to deliver real-time multilingual access throughout the entire broadcast. ## Overview As the vision for Gather25 took shape, the organising team recognised that language accessibility would be critical to the event’s success. With a truly global audience expected, the challenge was not simply to translate content, but to create a seamless, inclusive experience that felt unified across regions, cultures, and time zones. Gather25 began exploring how technology could help remove language barriers without compromising quality, reliability, or the emotional impact of live worship. For the full 25 hours, professional RSI interpreters delivered live interpretation in 14 languages, ensuring accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and a high-quality listening experience for core audiences. In parallel, AI-powered speech translation expanded access to an additional 55 languages, making it possible to reach a truly global audience at scale. Attendees accessed interpretation and AI speech translation through Interprefy’s browser-based delivery, allowing them to join from anywhere in the world without the need for dedicated hardware. Behind the scenes, Interprefy supported the event with extensive technical preparation, multiple rehearsals, and real-time monitoring throughout the broadcast.
